Per Capita Spending and Life Expectancy Statistics

by reader Sammy “Are Per Capita Spending and Life Expectancy Statistics an precise measure of US Health Care Efficiency?”Proponents of some degree of nationalization of physical condition care generally cite some variation of the next "The US spends additional for each capita on physical condition care than any previous country, and yet has single of the least life expectancies of any urbanized country" as proof of the need for administration intervention. But is that statement meaningful? This University of Iowa study provides some information that casts some serious doubt.Let's break the statement into it's two parts.1) "The US spends additional for each capita…Yes, but the US makes additional for each capita. They spend additional for each capita on LOTS of belongings as GDP increases. So the question is, does the US spend additional than “expected” given senior GDP. The study conclusion: “Not Obvious” as seen by the chart below.2) “….. and yet has single of the least life expectancies of any urbanized country.”(Rdan...My impression is in comments)This is even additional interesting. The US has far senior fatalities from murder and transfer accidents than previous countries which impact the life expectancy statistics. While this may have some implications concerning crime otherwise transfer legislation, it does not on Health Care, if not single were to assert that US trauma care is dramatically inferior. So the authors controlled for the differing non-health care connected deaths to develop a life expectancy table that could additional precisely reflect the relationship between physical condition care quality and life expectancy:The US jumps from 15th on the list with a life expectancy of 75.3 to 1st with a life expectancy of 76.9.So single of the central and oft-quoted motivations for administration control of physical condition care "The US spends additional for each capita on physical condition care than any previous country, and yet has single of the least life expectancies of any urbanized country" is quite misleading.
